About
I have been running businesses since i was 20 years old. About 3 years ago i discovered Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE). It blew my mind that over the years i had spent so much money on 'stuff' just because i could. Since this time i have been learning and implementing while helping others do the same.

Who am I?
My name is Phill Payne and I am 46 years old. I was born and raised in a West Yorkshire, England and I live with my family in a small village in Halifax. I love the rolling green hills and stone work in the area and the only thing i would change about the place i live is to have a little less rain.
Though i have done less since the arrival of my now 2 year old daughter, i love to travel and have a soft spot for the Greek Islands. From the food in Crete to the turtles on Zante to the scenery in Kefalonia. The people are friendly and the climate is just right for me. I try to get to Greece once a year if i can though i also have it in my plans to visit a new country each year. I was doing quite well at this until the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020..
I originally went to college and university to study IT and in my final year at university i was studying full time, teaching Taekwondo twice a week, teaching PC upgrade and repair at Leeds College or Technology twice a week while also running my own computer company.
In 2008 i left the IT industry and started teaching martial arts full time while also doing some event photography work on weekend. Although i took a salary cut to take this path, i have always valued doing work i enjoy over money. We are only on this earth for a relatively short period, I don’t waste a big chunk of it working 40 hours a week doing something i dislike.
Love of travel
